Fall Book Sale

Our Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale is on for October 18th through the 23rd—Six full days of book shopping this time! It will be held in the Community Room, near the entrance of the Library. Hours are 9 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday the 23rd. Shopping on Monday is reserved for SLO Friends of the Library members, but you will have an opportunity to join at the entrance. All day Saturday is a special $5 a bag sale. Come and fill up a bag or two! We will have our book bags for sale every day, or you can bring your own. New books will be added to the tables daily, in a wide variety of genres. We will also have a large selection of children’s books, DVDs, and CDs.

Books are priced at $1.25 an inch and DVDs & CDs are $1 each. Every dollar earned goes to our local Library for programs and materials. We have an impressive array of book treasures for you to browse through and we eagerly look forward to greeting you at the door.
In order for us to safely host our Book Sale, we will be asking patrons to cooperate with the following guidelines. First, everyone must wear a mask covering mouth and nose at all times while inside the sale. We will have extra masks available for those who forget to bring theirs. Second, during high traffic hours, we will be limiting the number of people who enter, in order to allow for a reasonable amount of personal space. This may require waiting in line at times, but this will insure a safe environment for shoppers and volunteers. We will also have doors open and fans going to keep the air moving around. We hope you will feel comfortable joining us for this event.

Memberships Extended

Good news for current members: As a goodwill gesture during the pandemic, all 2020 memberships will be extended through 2021 (membership to SLO Friends of the Library runs from January through December).  In 2020 the Friends donated $34,000 and many volunteer hours to help provide Library programs, books and audio-visual collections. To help us continue this, please consider making a donation to SLOFOL.
